Valen Baxter's links:
- Transhumanist Interview - an interesting interview with a transhumanist thinker
- Micro-Wireless - Wireless communication between PDAs, phones, implants, maybe even people eventually.
- Structural metamaterials - Some amazing research into super-strong substances, possibly ideal for structures like building materials, or replacement bones.
- Muscular Enhancement - potential for super-human strength
- Data Storage - another media-storage advancement, this one geared towards optical/visual information.
- Micro-scale batteries - definitely a step toward extending the battery life of implants/other technology.
- Stackable computer chips - increased computing power. Need I say more?
- Electricity producing bacteria - Serious potential as a power source for implants
- Solar powered nano-motors - big news in the Small Things category, this opens new doors for micro-implants, and components thereof.
- British Chimera research. - Human/animal hybrids. Big step forward in genetic engineering
- Neural Interface - This is fairly self explainitory.
- Data Storage - massive digital memory storage. Fitting more into less space is always a good thing, especially when considering internal implants.
- Human Memory research - an impressive development for the mind-machine interface crowd
- advanced meta-materials - Some more amazing research into exotic materials eact as one would expect, this time in the light-bending/invisibility vein
- sensory input - The possibility of expanding one's sensory capabilities has always been tantalizing. Fitting that our research should begin by duplicating senses found in nature that we humans do not share.
- early shielding system? - A major breakthrough in space exploration.
