Stephen Euin Cobb (born February 3, 1955) is a U.S. science fiction author, futurist and the host of the award-winning podcast The Future and You. He is also a columnist and contributing editor for Jim Baen's Universe Magazine, the online magazine from Baen Books. Also he is a game designer, artist, essayist, transhumanist, and is on the Advisory Board of The Lifeboat Foundation.

Stephen is a founding member of the Order of Cosmic Engineers, and has promoted the Order on his podcast by talking about it himself from time to time and by interviewing several of the other founding members.

OCE members who have been interviewed on his show (so far) include:

  • Giulio prisco (scientist, VR pioneer and activist)
  • Philippe Van Nedervelde (author, entrepreneur and activist)
  • Ben Goertzel (author, scientist, AI pioneer and activist)
  • David Pearce (author, professor, philosopher and activist)

He has said on his show, "I became a transhumanist when I was about seventeen year old (approx 1972) while I was reading Arthur C. Clarke's novel 2001: a Space Odessy. But more than twenty years would pass before I found out there was a name for what I'd become on that day, and that I was not the only one. Which is what I thought I was going to be forever."
