- Google Scenarios - an idea for making The Scenarios Project a new feature of Google itself.
- Planetary University - accredited online university, able to give legally recognized degrees, open to everyone and free. Entirely based on open source software like Red5 with webinar features like http:/ DimDim. Optimzed for low bandwidth and low end PCs common in the development world.
- Tax Imports from Low Wage Countries - there is a demand to create tariff barriers against countries with wages so low as to make competition almost impossible. A fair system would be to determine a tax depending on difference in GNP, collect that tax with as little loss as possible - and then send it back to the country of origin and GIVE it to the workers, invest it in unions in that particular country or invest it in applicable development projects. For example - a country such a China retains a system that effectively uses its citizens as cheap/slave labor. Rich countries cannot hope to compete against such low labor costs - so they tax what would be the effective difference in wage costs for imported products, and invest the generated import duty back and reinvest it in China - for education, developing free unions, medical care or as a bonus payment to the workers wages in question. This would have the additional benefit of reducing wasteful exports and reduce the insane rates of consumption. Plus the somewhat more expensive costs for imported products would be offset by more sane opportunities of production in the importing country. Everyone benefits and best of all, it is fair and just.
